For most of her life, Lindsay has been devoted to her charity work and has used her status as a celebrity to champion such causes as domestic violence, child abuse, the environment and using a holistic approach to all aspects of life.  She has been awarded many times for her work and was named one of Hollywood's most charitable persons.  Many of her screen projects have reflected her personal views and opinions and that is likely the reason why she struck a chord with the public.
