Mayor Tom Alcala insists the city accept the low freeway construction bid submitted by Lester Holland Jr., son of a convicted contractor, on ABC-TV's "The Man And The Cily" at 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Alcala, rejecting guilt by association, signs the contract with young Holland. When an overpass collapses, killing a worker, Lester feels the mayor and the city are trying to jail him as they did his father in "Disaster on Turner Street."
Anthony Quinn appears as Mayor Tom. Alcala, with Mike Farrell as Andy Mays and Mala Powers as Marian Crane. Brodcrick Crawford portrays Lester Holland Sr.; Dack Rambo plays Lester Holland Jr., and William Schallert appears as Borden. Lindsay Wagner is featured as Margie, Jack Collins as Whitlig and Clark Howat as the district attorney.
