Don't look now, but "The Bionic Woman" — the pre-fabricated beauty who got it on with "The Six Million Dollar Man" for two consecutive Sundays in September — is being blessed with a series of her own.
ABC's midseason schedule, to be released this week, will feature "The Bionic Woman" on a weekly basis, probably as an hour entry on Monday nights starting in January 1976. Lindsay Wagner will continue her portrayal.
Fans of "The Six Million Dollar Man" will recall that the superfemale was first introduced last year in a two-part episode in which she died. But the mail reaction from viewers was so feverish that ABC literally brought the mechanical girl back to life. She appeared in two more "Six Million Dollar Man" episodes this fall, again to big fan reaction, and thus the reason for the upcoming series.
On her own show, however, "The Bionic Woman" won't concentrate too much on stunts and gimmicks. She'll be cast as a nightclub singer, etc. Maybe she'll do a little "bouncing" on the side.
