PETER FONDA LEADS BIKERS IN BENEFIT RIDE FOR CHARITY

November 15, 1999

Perched atop his Harley-Davidson, Peter Fonda led a pack of more than 20,000 motorcyclists through suburban Los Angeles streets Sunday on the 16th annual ``Love Ride.''

The 50-mile caravan hopes to raise more than $1 million to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and promote children's literacy. The riders started in Glendale, then headed to Castaic Lake for a concert featuring Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas.

Fonda has participated in the event for several years. Other celebrity riders included Larry Hagman, Lorenzo Lamas, Perry King and Lindsay Wagner, said Oliver Shokou, who founded the ride.
