Host Lindsay Wagner examines the issues faced by aging women in this documentary that intermixes the experiences of some women and the comments of various observers and experts. Spokespersons from the Social Security Administration, American Association of Retired Persons, Older Women's League, and legal and academic fields tackle key issues. Interlaced are interviews with needy women of varying backgrounds: the frail elderly whose husbands have died and whose social security doesn't cover their expenses and women in traditional marriages who did not earn enough benefits after joining the workforce. While the information about assistance sources for illiterate minority women and suggestions for obtaining sustenance for body and spirit are localized in Illinois, this is nevertheless a helpful resource. It effectively highlights timely issues, for all viewers, especially the need for subsidized housing.
