THE BIONIC WOMAN TV1 continues to provide retro entertainment with the return of the 70s action adventures series The Bionic Woman, starting on Sunday. During the 70s when The Six Million Dollar Man was ruling the ratings, network executives were desperate to replicate the success of the show. One of the highest-rating episodes guest-starred Lindsay Wagner, who played Steve Austin's sweetheart Jaime Sommers. She receives a bionic limb replacement after a sky-diving accident. Not letting the death of her character get in the way, the network awarded Wagner her own series. It turns out Sommers wasn't dead after all, she had just been placed in a cryogenic state. Although her memory was partially restored, she has no recollection of being engaged to Steve Austin (Lee Majors). Committed to getting her life back in order, she agrees to go on missions for Austin's former boss. Wagner won an Emmy for her portrayal as The Bionic Woman.
