Museum of Fine Arts Premieres 'Ennis' Gift,' a Film About Overcoming Learning Differences

9 Oct 2000

Event Features Presentations by Russell Cosby (Brother of Bill Cosby)

And Ford Motor Credit CEO Don Winkler

Boston, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ --

Russell Cosby, brother of Bill Cosby, will be a presenter at the New England premiere screening of "Ennis' Gift," an inspirational look at overcoming obstacles to learning, on October 12 at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. In addition to featuring Russell Cosby, the film profiles actors, scientists, business leaders, a polar explorer, a teacher, and dozens of others who have one thing in common: they all have learning differences. These individuals refused to be limited by their difficulties or defined by the labels they were given. The screening will be introduced by Donald Winkler, Chairman and CEO of Ford Motor Credit Company, who is also profiled in the film.

The film was inspired by Ennis William Cosby, a young man with dyslexia who became a passionate educator dedicated to helping all children find their gifts and learn. "Ennis' Gift" is introduced by Ed Bradley and features such notables as James Earl Jones, artist Robert Rauschenberg, Danny Glover, Lindsay Wagner, Henry Winkler, Bruce Jenner, Charles Schwab and many others.

Russell Cosby, now a college student, will be joined in a discussion panel after the film along with filmmaker Josh Seftel and Carolyn Olivier, author of "Learning to Learn" and educational director of the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. event at the Museum's Remis Auditorium (465 Huntington Avenue) can be reserved by calling 617-369-3770. For more information about the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation and how to order a videotape of the film, contact www.hellofriend.org.
