Walk Of Stars Honors Photographer Ed Thrasher

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (CBS) ? Thrasher, a Grammy-winning art director for Capitol Records, designed album covers for artists including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Nat King Cole.

Art director, photographer and writer Ed Thrasher, who is also the ex-husband of actress Linda Gray, will posthumously receive the 268th star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, officials said Tuesday.

Thrasher, who was a long-time Coachella Valley resident, will receive the star during a ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Walk of Stars, 160 S. Palm Canyon Drive.

Thrasher, a Grammy-winning art director for Capitol Records, designed album covers for artists including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Nat King Cole. He also designed album covers at Warner Bros. for recording stars Jimi Hendrix; Joni Mitchell; Earth, Wind & Fire and the Doobie Brothers.

Gray, who portrayed Sue Ellen Ewing on the hit CBS television drama "Dallas," will speak at the ceremony as well as Thrasher's niece, actress Lindsay Wagner, the star of the 1970s series "The Bionic Woman." Actress Della Reese, a friend of Thrasher's, will also attend.

Thrasher died last year at age 74.
