Lindsay Wagner, all grown up |
It seems Lindsay Wagner, who played the lead role in The Bionic Woman in the 1970s, isn’t too fond of the new TV update of the show.
“It's very different," she told press. "It's very much like what the shows are today, kind of dark and broody and violent – what people seem to be getting off on these days. It's not at all what we were doing.”
Apparently, Wagner prefers the good old days when the show was all sunshine and lollipops – you know, good, clean, surgically enhanced fun.
“We were doing a show for kids intentionally, and making it fun and make it in such a way that adults could enjoy it, too, with their children," she said.
Wagner originated the role of Jamie Sommers on The Six Million Dollar Man in 1975 before spinning it off into her own show for three seasons, winning an Emmy for the role. She also reprised the character for three TV movies in 1987, 1989 and 1994.
The new NBC version of Bionic Woman stars Michelle Ryan.
