When you read a movie, book or theater review, you deal with the critic's judgment of the piece. Often, though, lack of a review or lack of notice in a review may mean that the subject matter wasn't worth mentioning.
Is that the way Kathie Meyer, in her review of The Paradise Theatre School's production of "Shining City," feels about Sam Cavallaro? He is one of four actors in this well-directed and exceptionally performed play and the only member of the ensemble whose name does not appear in Ms. Meyer's March 18 review in The Leader.
I saw the play and yes, Scott Nollette's performance was "superb." David Wayne Johnson's and Patti Quintero's performances were exceptional, though barely mentioned. I think I would have rather read about Sam Cavallaro, good or bad, than the fawning tidbit that Lindsay Wagner of "Bionic Woman" fame, who owns a house in Sequim, was in the audience. What did she have to do with the production?
Oh, and by the way, Sam's performance was awesome.
