People make the party, and Pegasus Riding Academy for the Handicapped turns them out in droves, literally taking over the Rattlesnake Restaurant without firing a shot for their 14th annual Easter Brunch.
Specialty vendors, a lavish silent auction and a spectacular Sunday brunch attracted a veritable who's who of the Coachella Valley philanthropic community, along with people who just adore Pegasus leader Lori Sarner.
The famous Jimmy Schmidt, owner/chef of Rattlesnake Restaurant at the Classic Club, personally designed the menu.
Robin Montgomery and Janet Newcomb co-chaired the event, making it look easy, and the wonderful men who underwrote the lunch were Peter Solomon and Chuck Hodges (and this was not the first time).
Dan McGrath of EZ-103.1 FM was the raffle host and did a masterful job, just as he did at the Pegasus Riders Awards earlier this season.
To prove our point about people making the party, guests included Lindsay Wagner (“The Bionic Woman”) with her mother and son; Judith Chapman (“The Young and Restless”); Jim, Jackie Lee and Jaimi K. Houston; Dr. Maja Ruetschi; Jerry Auker; Patrick and Edeltraud McCarthy; Geno and Lindi Biggi; Joe and DeAnn Lubell; Kay Bell; Bill and Barbara Marx; Malinda Bustos; and Jimmy and Jo Marie Schmid and their three sons.
Also Wally Beinfeld, Claudia Di Ambrea, Ann and Gloria Greer, Ron and Sherrie Auen, Pamela Green, Susie Garcia, Stewart and Ellie Weiner, Dr. Bud and Patty Craine, Albeth Paris Grass and her sister Sherril Paris, and Isabelle, the raffle-ticket-selecting dog, with her owner Jennifer Hamilton.
