Billy Graham's life story headed to movie theaters 2:20 PM

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- When you think about the early years of Billy Graham’s life, it should come as no surprise that it is the perfect storyline for a big screen script.

It is a true coming of age story: A Charlotte boy who rose to power, grew in stature and affected the lives of millions around the world.

Right now, filming is underway for the movie "Billy: The Early Years." We went to Watertown, Tenn., to get a behind-the-scenes look at production for the film.

It focuses on Graham’s rise to fame -- beginning with his years here in Charlotte.

The film has a big name cast including Martin Landau, Jennifer O’Neill, and country music star Josh Turner.

The movie is scheduled for release this fall. But you can get a sneak-peak with our all-access pass in a special report Monday at 6 on WCNC.
