One show from the seventies which has not had the remake treatment as of yet is The Six Million Dollar Man, which starred Lee Majors as Steve Austin and Richard Anderson as his boss, Oscar Goldman.
Back in the 1970s, The Six Million Dollar Man was big business and had a loyal following. Yet after several “bionic” television movies, which ended with the 1994 film Bionic Ever After, nothing much has really happened other than a lot of talk.
For some time Richard Anderson has long held the firm belief that The Six Million Dollar Man can and should live again.
In a recent chat with some folks from The Home Theater Forum, Anderson revealed that there’s still hope for the franchise.
Here’s what they were said:
“Two friends of mine were able to speak to Richard Anderson (“Oscar Goldman”) in L.A. a few weeks ago at an autograph show. He told them things may be “looking up”, with Miramax in financial trouble and Disney looking to possibly dump the studio. Apparently, Miramax may be willing to sell or trade the bionic rights back to Universal, since they have no plans for the franchise – or anything else for that matter — given their current situation.”
Anderson went on to add that both The Six Million Dollar Man and the original Bionic Woman would be returning to U.S. cable channels on June 1st, 2010. He also added that all seasons from both series would be broadcast in their entirety.
“Universal Studios tells me spending one million dollars bringing films up to today’s standards … together with a huge promotional campaign.” Anderson told the forum. “There is talk that it’ll show on NBC Syfy channel.”

Palm Springs Women in Film and Television takes pride in honoring extraordinary women in our community and industry. We are especially pleased this year to be recognizing the multifaceted career of EMMY-Award winning actressLindsay Wagner, who makes little distinction between her life as an actress, advocate, mother, and author.
She broke the mold for women on television with her iconic portrayal of Jaime Sommers in “The Bionic Woman”. She followed the hit television series by starring in, and sometimes producing, more than two dozen television movies, all with socially relevant themes such as capital punishment, sexual child abuse, the rise of Neo-Nazism, family violence, teen prostitution, and the emotional effect of breast cancer on family members. Lindsay Wagner has touched and changed millions of lives and we are proud to present her with the GENA AWARD.
Lindsay was honoured with a Gena Award at the 2nd Annual Broken Glass Awards held on March 6, 2010 in La Quinta, California.
